Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes says focus has immediately switched to Wednesday nights trip to Crystal Palace following Saturdays 2-1 derby day triumph over Manchester City at Old Trafford.

The win lifted United up to third in the Premier League table, just a point behind City. However, they will be relegated back down to fourth in the standings if Newcastle United beat Fulham at St James Park on Sunday afternoon, such is the Magpies superior goal difference.

While it would be easy for United to get carried away after defeating their cross-city rivals on their own patch for the first time in almost three years,Fernandeshas urged his teammates to remain grounded, looking ahead to the importance of the Reds trip to Selhurst park.

That doesnt matter for us, Fernandes told BT Sport when asked about the significance of moving to within a point of City in the table. We have to look forward to the next game because you can be closer but if you dont keep winning they will go.

The mentality now is to be celebrating because it is a big win in the derby. But from tomorrow, straight away, it is about looking ahead to Crystal Palace.

It is always tough to play away there, we all know that, so our focus has to be straight on that.
